New Silver Girl ”Wild Carnation” out on February 28, 2025!
New Silver Girl is an indie rock band from Helsinki founded by Olli Happonen. The band released their debut album in 2018. It was recorded at Berlin's Hansa Studio with producer Gordon Raphael (The Strokes, Regina Spektor, Hinds). Recently, the band and Raphael have recorded 9 new songs in London at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. The new album called Wild Carnation will be released on February 28, 2025.
Wild Carnation presents the confident New Silver Girl, which sounds sonically richer and bolder than its predecessor, but still retains the innocence of rock and roll.
New Silver Girl is in many ways an exception in the field of contemporary indie. You won't find the band in the influencer-driven attention economy markets of Meta, Bytedance, or X. Instead, for Happonen, rock and roll is a religion and blues is its holy church, whose congregation gathers around live gigs and records - around the honest communication between the music and the people.
